The more i think about it , the more i am inclined to say i am just a Jedi , trying to do Jedi stuff , i stay offline as much as i can , i dont understand online communication very well , a real life Jedi is what i aspire to be , i am a teacher aswell , but not a Knight ...yet.

Very good question! And one that I have absolutely NO idea how to answer :D

Im in such a transitional space right now that Im not really able to say, but I do know that my nature usually tends to be very strongly activist, but Im finding myself quieter and more contemplative of late. Can one take holy orders without the whole chastity and poverty thing? :D

I wouldn't say Im a teacher at all, and like Jzen I identify strongly with the samurai, or rather the Bushido aspect.

Probably not very helpful!

You're currently a Knight of Flexibility! And it's a super important type of Knight. Your current type teaches us that things change, and we need to be able to change too. You teach us that nobody is always one thing and how important it is to embrace where ever we are in our process. And you show us that it's ok to not know everything all the time, to be in limbo and in process and not sure.

So thank you, Brenna, for being true to yourself and being the kind of Knight you need to be right now!

Heh, I tend to be the opposite. The written word is literally my first language, so I do pretty well online but not so great face to face sometimes. Focusing on being a "real life" Jedi is so important! Thanks you for creating a world where it's getting more and more pleasant for people with diverse strengths to live and grow.

Dude, errant is a totally valid and important option. Seriously.

The outliers, as Malcolm Gladwell calls then, are where true change comes from. You're the ones who aren't afraid to say "Hey guys, that windmill might legit be a giant" or "Clearly this isn't working. We have to start fresh. And I know just how to do it, because I have been out there breathing different air with different ideas in it." You shake us up enough that we have to start looking at new things and in new ways.

So thanks, for being brave enough to create your own category. We need the Knights like you, especially in times like the current ones.

Kobos wrote: My goal is to embody this and the oaths I have taken as a Jedi and as an Educator, to meet this goal may be impossible but it may be the most notable thing I may ever do.

I dare say, it will be. The education thing is so unbelievably vital. Clearly this world that we have now doesn't work. And it can't last much longer. We need a new mindset, and you and your type of Knights are the ones building the youth into people who can create and implement that mind set. So thanks, to you and yours, for kinda literally saving the world.

jzen wrote: In reality, it might be more accurate to say that I am a Compassionate/Empathetic Knight/Jedi. I strive to mitigate the suffering of others and help out in anyway I can when I'm needed to (and sometimes when I'm not ;) ). This isn't something different from the truth seeking Knight that you referred to, but rather an organic outgrowth of the Journey. Thanks for sharing this with us :)

Thank you! Compassion is so key. Your compassion is what allows true growth in others. It's pretty rare to find someone who can truly look at themselves and explore what they find and do something about it, in an environment that feels judgemental and unsafe. That's where you Knights of Compassion come in: you let us know that we aren't alone; that even if our exact situation isn't known, the feelings are; and that we have a safe space to do our work in. Thank you for your service: you are one of the ones who give the rest of us the ability to be our best selves.

Blending them leads to things like Chan and Zen but the whole effort is wide and far ranging anyway. Previously my whole life had been about the theory side of both warrior and healer, so the amalgam is an interesting blend.

Sounds like a perfect blend to me! Who better to heal than someone who understands the ways of pain? I'm so grateful Knights like you exist, who are equipped to help keep balance.

So that is what I dedicate myself to.

Bless you, brother. Bless you for doing your best to find solutions that leave people as healthy and whole as possible. Bless you for doing your best to teach the generations behind us to do the same. It's because of Knights like you that I have hope for humanity.

Lykeios wrote: Honestly? I'm not sure what kind of "knight" I might be. My first inclination is to say I am not a knight at all (at least not yet). Is "reluctant knight" an option?

Ok, I know you thought you were just being silly.... but yes. Yes, reluctant knight is a totally valid option. And so is "Not A Knight At All Yet." 'Cause how boring would the world be if everyone was just Knights? For one thing, we'd go blind from all the armor reflections. But also, if everyone is a Knight, who's gonna get the real work done? And who's gonna remind the Knights why they even exist? Knights need people to serve.

And, KiTs (that's Knight's in Training lol) ensure that the tradition of service continues, as well as making sure the teaching/learning process is always shifting to meet the needs of a shifting population.

So thanks, sincerely, for being you and saying so.
