'allo! Just a few questions to learn more :)

1. What is the stated intent for this group?
2. What is the intended path to achieve that goal?
3. What is the focus and determination of how members should mentally see this path?
4. What is the paragon/ideal member look like?
5. What is anathema to this group?
6. Outside of the IDP, what is the foundation for development?
7. How does a member fit into society?
8. How does a member reconcile themselves with other like-minded organizations?
9. How does a member reconcile themselves with organizations that are -not- like minded?

  1. Answered here.

  3. That is up to the individual member.

  5. Someone who rejects helping and being of service to others; interested only in self and self-promotion I guess.

Here's my thoughts... certainly not official, but how I perceive things so far.

Nakis wrote: 1. What is the stated intent for this group?

As I understand it, we are here to improve ourselves in order to be more capable of serving our communities and society as a whole. That includes service and charitable work in addition to book learning.

Nakis wrote: 2. What is the intended path to achieve that goal?

Individual and group study leading to opportunities as individuals and as a group to serve our communities.

Nakis wrote: 3. What is the focus and determination of how members should mentally see this path?

I am focusing on personal development and gaining more tools so that I can be of service to others.

Nakis wrote: 4. What is the paragon/ideal member look like?

That's a tough one... Like any of us, I guess? For me, I see a selfless person with focus on success for everyone rather than just themselves.

Nakis wrote: 5. What is anathema to this group?

Nakis wrote: People more concerned with personal achievement and material reward rather than collective progress and spiritual reward.

Nakis wrote: 6. Outside of the IDP, what is the foundation for development?

I will be looking to other members for examples, additional lessons and discussion.

Nakis wrote: 7. How does a member fit into society?

I see us fitting into society as we already do as individuals, but by training here we become better equipped to aid others and thus advance society in ways we find productive and positive. It isd up to each member to determine the best way to do that.

Nakis wrote: 8. How does a member reconcile themselves with other like-minded organizations?

I think a person should seek knowledge wherever they can find it and incorporate that which makes sense to them into their own personal path.

Nakis wrote: 9. How does a member reconcile themselves with organizations that are -not- like minded?

Same answer as #8. Incorporate the parts that wok for you and discard those that do not.

I have additional questions:

1. Why is this a "Monastic" Order?
2. Will you be applying a skin to make this forum more colorful?
3. Will you be abandoning entirely the "Jedi" moniker?

I know the answer to number 1, because I asked too, lol. Monastic refers to the taking of oaths :)

Oh, ok. My mind asociates "monastic" with celibacy, and if that was the case I was gonna be leaving soon
