Lesson 10: Narrowing Your Focus

You've had the opportunity to delve into your area a little deeper. Now, it's time to begin narrowing down your focus for Research and to begin developing your thesis. In your journal, begin sharing your thoughts with your mentor about what you want to focus on and the thesis for your primary research. From this interaction, your mentor will assign specific exercises to help you develop this thesis. At the completion of these exercises, your mentor can recommend you for the Journeyman title and to move on to the Master Historian Requirements.

Keep in mind that the extra exercises are at the discretion of your mentor. If they feel that you are solidly grounded in your area of interest, have a good thesis, and your writing level that is up to the basic standards, they may waive additional writing exercises and recommend you for moving on to Master.
