Read First- Journeyman Literatus Requirements

The Journeyman readings are designed to provide a basic foundation in the Great Books. The Apprentice will cover ten selections each from both Eastern and Western literature and provide some feedback on their readings. Many of the works were provided for you in the apprentice lessons. For others a good place to look is Project Gutenberg website where many works are contained in electronic versions free to download. Here are the general and specific requirements to be awarded the Journeyman designation if the Guild:


General Requirements to Become a Journeyman:

- Must be at least a Squire.
- Must have completed the Apprentice Core Lessons in Reading and the Great Books.


Specific Requirements to Become a Journeyman:

- Apprentice must complete the Journeyman Readings in the Great Books of Western Civilization.
- Apprentice must complete the Journeyman Readings in the Great Books of Eastern Civilization.
- Apprentice must complete additional lessons provided by mentor if the mentor determines additional writing is necessary.
- Apprentice must be recommended for the Journeyman Award by mentor.


Lesson Order- Either set of lessons may be completed first. The apprentice should completely work through one set before starting the other.
