My rank/signature

Firewolf raised a fair question to me and I want to share my answer with everyone. It is a goal here to be completely honest and transparent from the beginning, so here goes...

I have a "Knight" rank bar and my signature includes the text "Battlefield Commission - Knight"

Here's the truth. I am not a Knight yet! I am working through the IDP along with you all and I fully intend to meet every requirement before I am considered for an actual Knighthood here.

To be clear, I am no more a Knight than anyone else here in title or official matters. The rank is just about access to assist with site setup, graphics work, getting the library and lesson sections filled in, and testing stuff. It also takes some load off of Wes by splitting the number of people looking to be sponsored for membership. This will all change once we are further along, but we kind of hit the ground running at a full sprint because of an immediate need to launch based on other happenings in the community.

The title is temporary and is with the written and recorded understanding between Wes and I that I am not a Knight here until I complete the training and have a ceremony just like anyone else. If I fail to do so, the rank bar and access will be removed. I can't take Apprentices and I don't have any sort of voting rights or special privileges. There is no set timeline, but I am committed to progressing quickly but thoroughly through training so that I can better serve this new and exciting venture.

I apologize if this has caused any appearance of favoritism or bending the rules. I can assure you that Wes will drop the hammer on me just as quickly as anyone else, and if you know him from the past, you should know he is above all else fair about applying the rules. I hope this clears up any confusion.
