My computer really doesn't want to me to download that file - Virus Detected, apparently.

Also, I might be well behind the science, but is it possible to have any documents in .pdf?

I'm not even sure if I can open .docx (and, I have to assume, if I can't then someone else can't)

Good point, James. I'll work on converting everything to PDF. We'll also be replicating many of these documents as posts so they can be easily read here on the site.

If you send me the pdfs I'll upload them and link them ;)

I know this is a ways off, but this is the stuff I love to think about for pure fun.

What kind of size of pouch/bag are we talking? Like, what goes in there? My Book eventually? Anything? Nothing? Is a wearable neck pouch ok? Inquiring minds wanna know, lol!

I'm happy for "patience, please" to be the answer, too.

I have always been a fan of belt pouches, haver sacks and nap sacks.

It all depends on the person and what they want to carry I suppose.

One idea is look at Gandolf in the Lord of the Rings. He wore robes and carried a bag and sword. And had a little ring!

traveling with a sword might be an issue. Ari told me that there are such things as "bags" for them so you can take em with you....any tips?

The best thing I can say is check with local law enforcement, and the laws of where you're going and last, regulations of the method of travle.

Where I live, if you are transporting from home to a show to sell, convention where it is allowed or what ever, it's legal. And they are about to make it legal to just carry one one daily for perosnal use.

So I always have to check where I'm going as to what I can "get away with."

I am refering to Texas. I'm sure there are some places where it is legal to carry them but we have it at the state level to pass into law.

I, of one particular view, am not scared by it at all. It does concern me that some people one might not particularly want to carry any weapons at all will be able to carry one. But with that said, criminals don't regard the law as to their conduct or the items they carry and use. If one were to defend themself, I woudl rather it be with a long piece of sharp metal than a fire arm. As bullets usually do not stop in their inended target if the target is hit at all.

It's a long debate no matter which side one falls on. I appriciate the view that weapons should not be needed or used at all. And in a utopian society that woudl be a great ideology to follow for sure. But the harsh reality that I have experianced personally is that criminals or "bad" people don't give a shit what the law says. They will find a way to get the upper hand over their victims even if it requires them to sharpen the handle of a tooth brush to stab people with. So in all fairness the people with a desire to have teh means to defend themselves should be allowed that means. Especially since the police have an average responce time in Dallas of over eleven minutes.

That's a long time to lay their bleeding out and waiting to die.

My hope is that one day weapons will not be needed by anyone. Just something to collect in musems or for their asthetic properties as art. I am building a Kentickey long rifle to hang (and use for hunting) just because of how pretty I think they are. But I do not think we are to that point yet.

It is fine to have what ever view a member wants to have about fire arms, and weapons in general. And I hold those views agaisnt no one. I was just sharing mine...

Okay... let me climb down off this soap box and stop high-jacking the thread. LOL

PS, I apologize if that seemed like an attack Brick. It was not meant to.

No worries Wesc.

I wasn't complaining about it. It's just a big difference in our respective cultures. Over here, it's illegal to carry a knife let alone a sword. About 95% of our police force here aren't even allowed to carry guns. So the idea of people walking around with potential weapons (even for defence purposes) is a fairly alien concept to me.

I wasn't saying that it's wrong or anything like that. Just remarking on a stark difference between two relatively similar cultures. :)
